Linda's story

Linda Miheso, 32, remembers the date she became part of Project Tres: December 5, 2017. Her introduction to the initiative happened during a visit to Nairobi by the project's founder, Carla, in collaboration with Hai Africa, another non-profit that has been doing great work, facilitating education for children in Kenya, including her own.

Growing up in Nairobi, Kenya, Linda was raised by a single mother who sadly passed away when she was only seven. After that, her aunt took on the role of raising her. Despite a nurturing upbringing, Linda lacked the maternal love she sought.

Completing her education up to Form Four, financial constraints prevented her from pursuing higher education.

Her childhood dream was to become a lawyer, but the lack of funds got in the way, making it impossible for her to join a university. Facing lots of challenges, Linda left school and entered into a relationship that blessed her with four children, but ultimately ended due to domestic violence. Bravely, Linda chose to stand alone with her children and got a part-time job at a restaurant to provide for them and herself.

Linda shows a lot of gratitude for the transformative impact Project Tres has had on her life, enabling her to pay rent without undue strain. Since 2022, Linda has led the project in Kenya, with a deserved monthly wage. Her journey, certainly marked by resilience and determination, serves as a testament to the positive changes Project Tres can have in the lives of those who count on it.
